If you are coming to the UAE with family members, you should obtain a family visa, which will allow you to sponsor your parents, spouse, daughters, and sons under the age of 18. Family visas are only possible if you earn more than Dhs. 4,000 (US$ 1,100) a month.

Conditions for Sponsoring Someone for a UAE Family Visa
- Male expatriates must have a monthly salary of AED 4,000 or AED 3,000 plus accommodation.
- Female expatriates must have a monthly salary of AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus housing.
- In addition, all family members over the age of 18 must pass a medical fitness test at a government-approved health centre in the UAE. They will be HIV and tuberculosis tested.
Applying for a Family Visa Dubai
Because Dubai is part of the UAE, if you are an expatriate living in Dubai and want to bring your family members with you, you must meet the same sponsorship requirements as outlined above. You can apply for a Dubai Family Visa for your family members at the GDRFA office in Dubai. You can also apply through Amer, a website where Dubai residents and citizens can apply for family reunion and visitors can extend their Visa On Arrival.

Who are you able to sponsor for a UAE Family Visa?
A male expatriate has an easier time sponsoring family members to the UAE than a female expatriate. If you are a man on a Residence Visa in the UAE, you can bring the following family members on a Family Visa:

- Your spouse: If you are a Muslim resident, you may sponsor two wives, but you must meet certain GDRFA requirements.
- Your two sons: You can only sponsor your sons if they are under the age of 18. If your sons are over the age of 18, you can still sponsor them as long as they are students and under the age of 21. Furthermore, if the sons are over the age of 18, they must enter the UAE at least once every six months if studying abroad, or their UAE visa will be revoked.
- Your Daughter: You can only sponsor your daughters if they are not married.
- Your Parents: You can sponsor your parents if you meet the following requirements: Unless one of your parents has died, you sponsor both of them.
You need to pay an AED 2,500 deposit as a guarantee for each parent—be sure to check with the corresponding immigration department as this fee is subject to change. You need medical insurance for your parents. You should earn AED 20,000 or AED 19,000 per month and live in a two-bedroom apartment. - Your stepchildren. You may also sponsor your stepchildren if the biological parent provides you with a written No Objection Certificate. The stepchild visa is valid for one year and is renewable.
